Here, kids can embark on an exciting shopping adventure, handpicking their favorite food items. By prioritizing love and dignity, we aim to nurture not just the physical needs but also the emotional well-being of every child, helping them envision a brighter future.
Beyond the physical act of selecting food, this experience actively engages children in their own well-being, instilling a sense of independence and self-worth.
Our vision is to nurture joy, value, and a sense of belonging in every child. We are not just feeding bellies but also feeding hearts, ensuring that no child in Central Oregon experiences hunger with shame or stigma. Together, we can build a community where every child’s heart and belly are full, and their future is full of promise.
At The Giving Plate, we are dedicated to creating a community where every child can thrive without the burden of hunger.
The space is designed to be vibrant and fun, making the shopping experience exciting and joyful for children - and with the purpose of empowering their shopping experience.
We serve over 4,800 individuals a month, with over 65% of those served being children under 18, ensuring that childhood hunger is addressed with compassion and care.

All children are welcome to visit Kid's Korner once per week.

Our Kid's Korner Market was intentionally designed for kids, giving them complete ownership of their shopping choices. We believe in fostering a sense of self-worth and independence in our young guests, which is why we only allow kids to do their own shopping in Kid's Korner. To accommodate school-aged children, we are open Wednesday evenings from 2-6 pm as well as Saturdays from 10 am - 2 pm.

For children aged 5 and under, either the parent/guardian OR another individual who has been given permission by the parent/guardian must stay with the child at all times. Another individual can be a friend or family member of any age, so long as the parent/guardian has approved them to watch the child.
For children over the age of 5, parents/guardians have the option to leave their child in Kid's Korner, however please understand that the parent/guardian is still responsible for their child's safety, well-being, and behavior.
