At The Giving Plate, we believe that nourishing our community goes beyond filling bellies but also filling hearts with hope.

Sharing Hope for the Holidays

It’s that time of year again, and The Giving Plate’s Jingle Christmas event is right around the corner! This year’s Jingle event is going to be different than it has been in recent years as we are excited to be refocusing our efforts this year.

The heart and intention behind Jingle when it began was to serve families in our community who were facing the greatest barriers to providing their children with gifts under the tree on Christmas morning. It started small, with great care taken to identify and connect with these families and provide some assistance during so they could enjoy the holiday season. The many stories of families whose Christmas was truly blessed highlighted the amazing joy in giving and the power a community has to love each other well. It was truly a beautiful event

Over the years, as the event has grown, we’ve been able to partner with our amazing community to put on an event that can only be described as magical. We’ve been so proud and honored by how our community has rallied around this event with hearts to share the joy of Christmas with those in our community navigating difficult circumstances.

As the event's popularity has grown, we have seen a shift in the demographics of those we are serving. Instead of serving those with the greatest need in our community, we have observed that many who attend are simply enjoying the event as one of their many holiday traditions. The popularity of the event among community members has hindered access to the event for The Giving Plate Guests and others who would benefit most from being able to attend. This does not serve our intended recipients, nor does it honor the heart of our mission and the intentions of our community supporters, sponsors, and donors.

After much deliberation and evaluation, The Giving Plate team and the Board of Directors have determined that the Jingle Christmas event is in need of some very intentional restructuring to ensure that those in our community who are experiencing the greatest challenges will have access to the event and the support they need to enjoy the holidays with their families. We believe this is the best way to honor our donors, sponsors, and supporters, and to serve our community in a way that aligns with the mission of The Giving Plate.

With this in mind, we will be simplifying our 2025 Jingle Christmas Event. We will be using this year to recalibrate our strategy to ensure our 2026 Jingle Event is as impactful as ever, while also staying in line with our mission to serve low- to moderate-income families in need of assistance.

In 2025, our Jingle Christmas event will include a Christmas experience located inside our Community Store and accessible to all our guests. We will have Santa and Mrs. Claus present for photos with kids, cookies, hot chocolate, and small stockings filled with treats for each child who visits Santa. In addition, we will be diligently working to connect with families who do not have means to celebrate the holiday and coordinating with them to provide toys and gift cards for a delicious holiday meal.

We will still be hosting Jingle Makeovers this year! Jingle Makeovers are an opportunity for families and organizations to partner with The Giving Plate to bless a family in need with a truly special Christmas. Makeover Sponsors invest approximately $2,500 to meet the needs of a family for Christmas. Sponsors work directly with the family to find creative and meaningful ways to bless and support the family.  For more information about sponsoring a family through our Jingle Makeovers, please reach out to crystal@thegivingplate.org

We know how special this event is for our community and that being involved may be a meaningful part of your holiday season. The changes this year include many opportunities for your family or organization to be involved in making this year’s Jingle Christmas event truly special.

Sponsorship: We are still in need of financial sponsors to help cover the cost of serving our community through this event.

*As always, any remaining proceeds from this event will go towards supporting our Hunger Relief Programs throughout the year.*
