The Giving Plate Announces Transition Away from Annual Jingle Event

To our amazing community,

For many years, The Giving Plate’s Jingle and Santa’s Plate event has been made possible by the generosity and dedication of our incredible community partners. We are deeply grateful for the financial support, in-kind donations, sponsorships, donors, and countless volunteer hours that helped bring some holiday joy to families throughout Central Oregon. Your partnership has made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many children and families, and we could never have done it without you all.

Over the past three years, The Giving Plate has experienced significant growth, with the number of neighbors/guests seeking food assistance increasing by approximately 30% each year. As the need for food support continues to rise, we must ensure that our time, resources, and facility space remain focused on our core mission: feeding our community.

After careful consideration, we have decided to sunset our Jingle event. This transition will allow us to free up critical storage space and operational capacity needed to receive, store, and distribute the growing volume of food required to serve our community.

We are so grateful to be part of such a strong network of nonprofit organizations across Central Oregon whose primary missions focus on providing holiday toys for children. Their work ensures that families continue to receive holiday support, and we are thankful that this important need is being met throughout our region.

As part of this transition, The Giving Plate is excited to partner with Les Schwab—a staple of the Central Oregon community since 1952. Leveraging their deep local roots and expansive regional network, Les Schwab will serve as a bridge to ensure the remaining toy inventory is distributed to local nonprofits whose primary mission is supporting families with Christmas gifts for children. This partnership ensures that toys donated by Central Oregonians stay right here in the community, reaching the local children who need them most.

While this marks a change for Jingle, it represents an important step forward in strengthening our ability to meet the growing need for food assistance.

We remain committed to serving Central Oregon with compassion, dignity, and care—and we are thankful for the community that continues to stand beside us.
